Ethan doing an Ollie

Here are two takes on my son Ethan doing an Ollie.

Any comments on which works best?

<<- This is the second version.  Which is why I show it first.  !!  I did it with a lighter background when the first one seemed too dark.

This is the first version ->> 
I like the dark background but not the tree-trunk.

Perhaps one day I will do one with a darker background.

Ethan and Mia

This is a painting of my son who was sick, sleeping in our bed.  The dogs are not allowed on the beds (well...) but Mia was keeping him company.  Watercolour on Arches Cold Pressed (300gm)  size :560x380mm

This is a painting I did for our local watercolour society exhibition, a while back.  Fatima sells samoosas in the parking lot of the shopping centre in our area.   This painting was bought by a an opera-singer from Vienna who had grown up here, which I thought was quite cool really.
